Subwoofer Bass Simulator

Play any bass frequency and watch a real 3D subwoofer respond. Pick a driver from 6 to 15 inches, drag to rotate it, and see how cone travel and output change with the note.

How the simulation works

Each size uses a sealed-box model. Below its cutoff the output falls 12 dB per octave, so a 6" driver fades out near 55 Hz while a 15" keeps going down to about 23 Hz. Cone travel is largest at low frequencies and shrinks as the note rises, which is why a 20 Hz tone moves the cone far more than 100 Hz.

Laptop and phone speakers cannot play notes below roughly 80 Hz, so use headphones or a real subwoofer to hear the deepest presets. This is an educational model, not a measurement of a specific product.
